Terms of Use

Welcome to SchoolWorldEvents.com. By accessing or using our website, you agree to these Terms of Use. Please read them carefully.

1. About SchoolWorldEvents

SchoolWorldEvents is operated as part of Africa Education Gateway, providing an online marketplace for educational event discovery, event management and ticket sales. We provide the technology platform that enables organisers to publish events and attendees to register or purchase tickets, acting as an intermediary between organisers and attendees rather than the organisers themselves.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create an organiser account or purchase tickets independently. Users under 18 may attend events only under the supervision or permission of a parent, guardian or educational institution.

3. User accounts

Users agree to:

  • Provide accurate information.
  • Keep login credentials secure.
  • Notify us of unauthorised account use.
  • Accept responsibility for activities conducted through their account.
4. Event listings

Organisers may list educational events including conferences, workshops, seminars, teacher CPD, school open days, career events, exhibitions, webinars, sports events, cultural festivals, student competitions, award ceremonies and charity events. We reserve the right to review, edit, reject, suspend or remove listings that are inaccurate, misleading or inconsistent with the platform’s purpose.

5. Organiser responsibilities

Organisers confirm that:

  • They are authorised to publish the event.
  • Event information is accurate.
  • Ticket pricing is correct.
  • Images and logos belong to them or are licensed.
  • The event complies with applicable laws.
  • Required insurance, licences and safeguarding measures are in place where applicable.
6. Ticket purchases

By purchasing a ticket you agree that:

  • Your booking is subject to the organiser’s event conditions.
  • Tickets may be digital or printable.
  • Each ticket contains a unique identifier.
  • Duplicate tickets may be refused.
  • Tickets may not be resold without organiser permission.
7. Payments

Payments are processed securely through approved payment providers. SchoolWorldEvents may deduct agreed platform service fees before remitting organiser funds. Organisers are responsible for taxes applicable to their events.

8. Refund policy

Refunds are governed primarily by the organiser’s published cancellation policy. Where an event is cancelled by the organiser, attendees will normally receive either a full refund, an alternative event, or a ticket transfer, subject to the organiser’s stated terms and applicable consumer law.

9. Event changes

Event dates, venues, speakers and programmes may change. SchoolWorldEvents is not responsible for changes made by organisers.

10. Prohibited content

Users must not publish events involving:

  • Fraud
  • Hate speech
  • Violence
  • Discrimination
  • Illegal activities
  • Pyramid schemes
  • Misleading promotions
  • Copyright infringement
  • Non-event listings or listings that are not genuine educational events.
11. Intellectual property

All website content including logos, graphics, software, designs, text and branding remains the intellectual property of Africa Education Gateway or its licensors.

12. Privacy

Your personal information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable data protection laws, including the UK GDPR and other relevant privacy legislation where applicable.

13. Limitation of liability

SchoolWorldEvents provides the technology platform connecting organisers and attendees. We are not responsible for:

  • Event quality
  • Speaker performance
  • Venue conditions
  • Travel costs
  • Accommodation
  • Event cancellation
  • Losses arising from organiser actions except where required by law.
14. Suspension or termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that:

  • Breach these Terms.
  • Engage in fraudulent activity.
  • Publish misleading information.
  • Abuse other users.
  • Compromise platform security.
15. Governing law

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Africa Education Gateway operates or as otherwise stated in our legal notices. Users remain responsible for complying with the laws applicable in the country where an event is organised or attended.
